The final environment for Mirage, some development work leading up to the final, my final lineup for characters and creatures, and color explorations for environmental assets.
All the artspam today has been my final portfolio for Conceptual Illustration, where we’ve developed a story visually through characters, environments, creatures, and assets until the final illustrations.
The small creature that pulls the main carriage in Mirage. Turnarounds, actions, details and tack for the final!
The large creature that pulls the large carriage in Mirage.
Masozi the mage antagonist from my story Mirage for my Conceptual Illustration final.
The protagonist from my story Mirage in my Conceptual Illustration class, Sikata. She’s a bandit who takes out a caravan only to find out that it was never real.
Carriage final designs and actions for my Concept Illustration final.
I realized I hadn’t posted many earlier development sketches from my concept project either! Here are some early sketches for the characters, carriages, and creatures.
Assets for the environment I posted value and color studies for! The first one is for a focal point that will be a worn down public works sort of asset. The second is buildings, the third is fruits (what the treasure will be in the story), the fourth is lights, and the fifth is doors for the buildings.
Creatures for my concept class. These are controlled by the antagonists to pull their glass carriages. Here are some tack designs, poses, details of textures/faces, and development work.
Two different carriages for my concept class. One of them is large enough to hold a small city or large tribe, and the other is a small transport for trade. Both are made of glass.
These have silhouette designs, multiple views, and what they do (float behind these creatures).
